Lane promotes one, hires two

TUPELO, Miss. — Lane Home Furnishings has promoted one person and hired two.
Paula Melton has been promoted to communications and e-business manager. She joined Lane in May 2003 in the new post of e-business manager, and will continue to oversee the consumer Web site, adding responsibilities for all public relations at Lane, a unit of Furniture Brands International.
Tracie Nichols has been hired as advertising manager. She previously worked for nine years at the Tupelo Daily Journal. She will be responsible for handling all aspects of catalogs, photography and advertising.
Jill Palmer has been named associate designer, and will assist in designing the upholstery line.
