Belfort Furniture donates van to nonprofit jobs group

DULLES, Va. — Belfort Furniture brightened the holidays for a local nonprofit organization by donating a much-needed van.
Michael Huber, the retailer's CEO, had noticed while driving through Leesburg, Va., that a van operated by Every Citizen Has Opportunity was in need of repair.
ECHO helps train people with mental and physical handicaps for employment, and the van transports them to their jobs.
For years, Belfort's staff has provided gifts for ECHO's annual holiday party, and Huber thought the van would be a great way to recognize the work of his staff and ECHO. Ted Schnebele, Belfort's president, and Sally Ramirez, sales director, contacted the organization and arranged the donation.
"ECHO provides a much-needed service in our community that goes unnoticed by many of our residents and businesses," said Huber. He said Karen Russell, ECHO's marketing manager, and her staff do "an outstanding job."
"Belfort Furniture has truly expressed the spirit of the season," Russell said. "We are so grateful."
