Aspenhome walks for City of Hope

PHOENIX — Hundreds of Aspenhome employees and affiliates turned out to participate in a three-mile fundraising walk in October to support cancer-fighting programs.
Aspenhome, a sponsor of the event, had the second-largest contingent with 468 walkers. The company made an undisclosed corporate donation and also donated money on behalf of each participant.
The funds will go to the bone marrow transplant and cancer screening and prevention programs at Banner Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, as well as to breast cancer research, treatment and education. Aspenhome is a longtime supporter of City of Hope, and the manufacturer will receive the organization's Spirit of Life award this spring.
Bill Colegrave, CEO of Aspenhome, said participation exceeded his expectations.
“When we put the call out to our department heads for participants in the Walk for Hope, we imagined 100 walkers,” he said. “By the time of the walk, we had 468 walkers.”
The Walk of Hope also served as the kick-off fundraiser for Aspenhome's Imagine the Possibilities campaign. Proceeds from the sale of products in the company's new Imagine furniture collection will benefit City of Hope.
