High Point premarket set for March 23-24

HIGH POINT — A total of 26 furniture companies are sponsoring the March 23-24 premarket here, according to a list released last week by the High Point Market Authority.
The list of sponsors also includes three major showroom operators — 220 Elm, the International Home Furnishings Center and Merchandise Mart Properties — that have tenants participating in the event.

Sponsors provide funds for meals, lodging and ground transportation for buyers. Officials did not say how many buyers they expected to attend the event, other than to say they expected it to meet or exceed last September's attendance.
“The idea of this is not to have an incredibly large number of exhibitors, but to work with those companies that are primarily in case goods, but also some upholstery, to create efficiency and value for the buyers that are here,” said High Point Market Authority President and CEO Brian Casey.
As of last week, another 29 companies that are not official event sponsors had told Furniture/Today that they too will be open during market. They are:
