SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Triad Turnaround Group announced that Kenneth Kaplan has been appointed chief financial officer of the restructuring, financial services and advisory firm. Kaplan concurrently serves as CEO of Kaplan CFO Solutions, a firm of experienced chief financial officers who provide on-site financial management to companies in turnaround or high-growth situations.

Verlo Mattress Factory
FORT ATKINSON, Wis. — Franchised mattress retailer Verlo Mattress Factory Stores has promoted Mike Juoni and Jennifer Roethe.
Juoni has been named executive director of operations. He has been with Verlo since 1997 in a number of capacities, most recently as director of sales and retail operations.
Roethe, who joined Verlo in 2003, has been promoted from franchise administrator to director of franchise compliance and government regulations. She will take on more responsibilities in overseeing system-wide compliance, will act as consultant to the vice president and shareholders on legal matters, and will ensure that Verlo's retail operations meet government requirements and bedding industry regulations.

Nickell Moulding
ELKHART, Ind. — Nickell Moulding has hired Mike Miller to represent the company in South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
Miller, who has many years of experience in the industry, will work with new and existing Nickell customers in those states. He is based in Greenville, S.C.

ASID
EDINA, Minn. — Karen Soojian, a senior interior designer with retailer Gabberts Design Studio & Fine Furnishings, received the 2008 ASID Designer of Distinction Award at last month's ASID award banquet held in Minneapolis.
Soojian has been in the design profession for more than 20 years and graduated with an interior design degree from the New York School of Interior Design.
Her colleagues said her work portrays detail, fashion, balance, style and sophistication. Under her guidance, the Gabberts Design Studio team has won numerous awards for showcase houses and other projects.
HW Home
DENVER, Colo. — Two employees of HW Home, a luxury floral and interior design retailer, were recently awarded Employee of the Year and HW Home Superstar honors.
John Wright was named Employee of the Year, and Kimberly Hathcock was named HW Home Superstar. The pair was nominated by their co-workers.
Wright is the store's visual merchandiser and previously was a part of the design team. He works with store owner Jim Hering in creating the store's overall look. Hathcock is a senior design consultant who moved to the area a couple of years ago after falling in love with the Rockies while on vacation. Hathcock's nomination was based on her leadership and personality, a release said.
Each honored employee receives a week's vacation for two including airfare, accommodations and a shopping spree gift. The Employee of the Year travels abroad while the HW Home Superstar stays within the continental United States. Wright will be going to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Hathcock will take a skiing trip.
Intercon
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Intercon recently recognized two employees who are celebrating their 20th anniversary with the company. Jerry Montanez, warehouse manager, and Lorin Pickering, operations manager, have both been with Intercon since 1988.
Montanez was hired right out of high school to work in Intercon's shipping and receiving department. He now oversees its main distribution center. “This is the only place I've ever worked, and it has been a great experience with many memorable moments,” he said.
Pickering manages operations for Intercon's five domestic facilities as well as assists in product engineering and development, sales, showroom maintenance, purchasing, product maintenance and production. “Working for Intercon has been a huge learning experience for me,” Pickering said. “It has been incredible to see the company grow into the successful business it is today.”
“Lorin and Jerry have been a huge part of our organization for the last 20 years,” said Tom Turpin, president and CEO. “We couldn't ask for more loyal employees and we appreciate all their hard work and dedication.”
