Four Hands sponsors orphans
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 16, 2009
AUSTIN, Texas — As part of its ongoing philanthropic efforts in India, Four Hands' Learn to Live foundation is sponsoring 20 orphaned children and building two cottages at an orphanage there.
Four Hands is working with the Austin-based nonprofit the Miracle Foundation, which works to help orphan children around the world.
Brett Hatton, founder and CEO of Four Hands, created the Learn to Live group to help children in India, which, according to the company, has more then 25 million orphans — equal to the population of Texas.
Last year, Hatton's foundation worked with Four Hands vendors in India to donate about $50,000 in furniture to the Miracle Foundation's Sooch Village orphanage.
“Brett and Four Hands are helping take care of those who can't take care of themselves, and that is really a selfless act,” said Caroline Boudreaux, founder of the Miracle Foundation.
