SANTERAMO IN COLLE, Italy — After less than nine months on the job, Aldo Uva has resigned as CEO of leather upholstery major Natuzzi Group.
Uva said he is stepping down "for exclusively personal reasons."
His resignation is effective Monday. The company said he will be replaced by Pasquale Natuzzi, the chairman and founder of the company.
Natuzzi described Uva as a "remarkably gifted human being as well as an extraordinary professional" and said the company would continue to implement the three-year business plan Uva unveiled late last year.
"We have a clear vision, a strong team and the skills and determination to achieve it," Natuzzi said.
Uva joined Natuzzi last July after a stint as global vice president of beverages at Nestle. He earlier held management posts at Sara Lee, Parmalat and Indesit.
Uva replaced Ernesto Greco, who resigned in September 2007 after a year on the job. Pasquale Natuzzi served as CEO between Greco and Uva.
