WithIt taking WOW nominations

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Women in the Home Industries Today, better known as WithIt, is accepting nominations for its 2009 WOW Awards, to be presented at the annual conference in August.

Nominees must currently work in the home furnishing industry and must have at least five years of experience in the field. They need to have made a significant impact on their company or the industry. The four categories are:

• Legacy Award, to a woman who has made significant contributions in the industry.

• Mentoring Award, to an executive or organization that has fostered advocacy and the development and promotion of women in their company.

• Education Award, to an executive or company that has created home furnishings education programs for associates, retailers or consumers.

• Future Leadership Award, which honors a woman younger than 40 who has shown achievement and the potential to become a leader.

Retailers, manufacturers and other industry professionals are invited to submit nominations by April 1. Nominees do not have to be members of WithIt.
