IFDA to raise money for scholarships
More than a dozen chapters to hold walks
Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 26, 2009
NEW YORK — More than a dozen chapters of the International Furnishings & Design Assn. are holding walks this spring to raise money for the IFDA Educational Foundation.
The collected funds will support the numerous scholarships and grants the foundation awards. IFDA expects to see a boost in scholarship applicants this year because of the weak economy.
The Walk for Design Education events will take place on various days throughout the spring and will range from tours of design centers to hiking trails and walking through gardens. National Walk Partners are 3M on the Champion level; Benjamin Moore and Hunter Douglas on the Booster level; and Market Square/MMPI, EJ Victor and Technology Ventures on the Banner level.
The foundation plans to award a number of scholarships and grants will be awarded this year, including the Green/Sustainable Scholarship. The deadlines to apply are March 31 for scholarships and June 30 for grants. For more information, visit www.ifdaef.org.
