Schnadig, Marge Carson settle lawsuit

Rosemead, Calif. — High-end manufacturer Marge Carson has settled a patent infringement lawsuit against upholstery and case goods importer Schnadig Corp. for violating a patent on Marge Carson's Chantelle sofa.
The companies settled out of court. Schnadig will pay Marge Carson an undisclosed amount.
The lawsuit alleged that the infringing sofa was part of Schnadig's Compositions collection. Marge Carson said in a statement that Schnadig ceased distribution of the product when it was served with the infringement charge.
"Marge Carson's position as a design leader within our industry is one we take very seriously," said Will Sharp, president. "A tremendous amount of effort is put forth by our design team to create elegant and original designs."
