Ling named president at Statements

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, May 3, 2004

ARCADIA, Calif.— Michael Ling has been named president of contemporary case goods importer Statements International, succeeding Robert Luce, who has joined Good Cos.

Ling, a major investor in the company, has advised Statements on product development and manufacturing. He has 20 years experience in the wholesaling and retailing of contemporary high-end furniture.

"I have had a very strong relationship with Statements since 2002, and I value the business association and trust that has built over these two years," Ling said. "The company's vision is to be a leading provider of quality and value with a distinct artistic element."

Statements imports bedroom, dining room and wall systems, primarily from China, and will expand into occasional in the coming months. Bedroom groups retail from $2,599 to $5,999.

Rick Lee has designed several collections for Statements, including its Infinity, Aqua and Morocco lines. At the just-concluded High Point market, his contributions included Flow, a bedroom in exotic Brazilian rosewood, and a home office cabinet for the Infinity collection.

Statements had shown in High Point for several markets with upholstery manufacturer Preview before Weiman acquired that company. It skipped the October market, and returned this April in a Showplace space.
