Cochrane taps Peters
Gary Evans -- Furniture Today, May 3, 2004
LINCOLNTON, N.C. — LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Paul Peters has been named to the newly created position of president of upholstery for Cochrane Furniture, reporting to Steve Healy, president and CEO.
Peters previously was senior vice president of sales for upholstery maker Clayton Marcus, and had earlier worked on Cochrane's sales force.
Peters "has extensive experience marketing to independent retailers, which are Cochrane's core customers," Healy said. "Second, he knows well the tastes of consumers, including those in the Midwestern region of the country where Cochrane's customer base is strong. Third, he is familiar with Cochrane's product line strengths" from his years as a sales rep.
The position was created to put a greater focus and more resources on Cochrane's upholstery business in order to better serve customers, Healy said.
"We are excited to have Paul back with Cochrane where he was well known and respected for his knowledge of the marketplace and his common sense approach to promoting Cochrane's product line strengths," he added.
Another hire at Cochrane is Steven Kroll, who was named vice president of sales for upholstery after the departure of Bob Eller, who had been vice president of upholstery sales and merchandising.
For several years, Kroll had been a partner in a business selling upholstery and accessories to retailers. He was vice president of sales for Cochrane upholstery and the former Pem-Kay Furniture Co. in the mid-1990s.
