A look at products, issues, players
David Perry -- Furniture Today, April 18, 2004
Welcome to Bedding 2004, a special package of bedding stories that provides a look at some of the prospects, products, issues and people driving the dynamic mattress category.
Much of the reporting for this presentation was done at Expo 2004, the bedding trade show held last month in Indianapolis by the International Sleep Products Assn.
In the pages that follow, you'll find a review of some key presentations made at Expo 2004, and you'll get an update on some of the key issues facing the bedding industry. You'll also learn what ISPA is doing to address some of those issues.
In addition, you'll get a look at several major products introduced at the Expo, products retailers will see when producers begin incorporating them in bedding lineups. The offerings span the gamut from horsehair to aloe vera-treated mattress ticking.
On the people side, you'll meet the new president of Restonic, Kevin Toman. There's news on a number of other companies as well.
And we lead off with what leading producers and ISPA see ahead for the industry in 2004 and 2005.
