Growing Eclipse adds 2 lines, POP materials

NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Eclipse International, a rising bedding licensor based here, has launched two new mattress lines.
The company also has redesigned its Web site at www.eclipsemattress.com, and is offering new point-of-purchase and marketing materials.
Eclipse has 11 domestic licensees and 13 international licensees. It is headed by bedding veteran Stuart Carlitz, who says Eclipse is well positioned for a strong year in 2004.
"Eclipse is going full throttle ahead," Carlitz said. "In a very short time, our development team has designed and launched two additional mattress lines, expanded the existing Eclipse mattress lines, completely revamped the Eclipse Web site, developed a strong mattress sales training program, diversified the POP and marketing materials, designed a CD of ad slicks, created a manufacturing continuous improvement program, introduced global sourcing programs, and helped members address supplier price increases."
Sales growth at Eclipse is "on a sharp upward trend," he said.
The new lines are the Royal Collection and the Perfection Rest Pediatric collection.
The Royal Collection offers three designs at the $1,999 price point. It is based on an 868 coil, foam-encased, encased coil unit. The Royal Heirloom has a 3-inch encased coil pillowtop unit, the Heritage has a 3-inch pillowtop of latex foam, and the Legacy has a 3-inch pillowtop of memory foam.
Eclipse's new Perfection Rest Pediatric mattresses feature the company's patent-pending Non-Allergenic Barrier System, designed to protect against common household allergens. The models include the Kids Posture Support, the Spinal Zone Pediatric and the Perfection Rest New Generation.
The company said it will make a donation to Building the Future, a nonprofit support program for families with children suffering from autism, for every Perfection Rest Pediatric mattress sold.
Eclipse launched its new Web site in March.
"Online promotion is one of the most important marketing tools for a global-scale company," said Mark Mandell, Eclipse's international development and marketing director. "Eclipse's new Web site explains the benefits of Eclipse mattresses in consumer language and will help familiarize consumers with the Eclipse brand."
Mandell, a third-generation chiropractor, has specialized in health care product marketing.
