Registration open for Toronto Summer Furniture Show

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — Online registration is now open for the Toronto Summer Furniture Show and the annual Golf Classic hosted by the Canadian Home Furnishings Alliance.
The TSFS will be held Aug. 9-10, followed by the Golf Classic Aug. 11 at the Glen Eagle Golf Club in nearby Bolton, Ontario.
Some 40 companies with permanent showrooms in and around the International Centre participated in the 2008 summer show.
According to show organizers, the TSFS provides smaller manufacturers, importers and distributors that don't exhibit at the High Point or Las Vegas markets with an opportunity to launch new product without waiting until the January 2010 Canadian Home Furnishings Market in Toronto.
The fee for companies to show at the TSFS and be listed in the show guide is C$250 (plus Goods & Services Tax) for members of CHFA, Furniture West and the Quebec Furniture Manufacturers Assn., and C$300 (plus tax) for non-members.

As in previous years, the TSFS will overlap the summer edition of the semiannual trade show held by the Canadian Gift & Tableware Assn., which will take place Aug. 9-13 in the International Centre and the Toronto Congress Centre.
"Holding the golf tournament in conjunction with the TSFS is an excellent networking opportunity for both suppliers and retailers," CHFA President Murray Vaughan said. "Last year the golf tournament was attended by 120 manufacturers, suppliers and retailers."
The cost to participated in the Golf Classic is C$195 per person (plus tax), which includes green fees, the use of a cart, lunch and dinner. Dinner only tickets are available at C$75 (plus tax.)

The CHFA also will hold its annual general meeting the morning of Aug. 11 at the Glen Eagle Golf Club.
