Americas Filament raising Dacron prices
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 1, 2004
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Americas Filament, a business unit of Invista (formerly DuPont Textiles & Interiors), will increase prices 7% to 10% on its Dacron polyester filament yarns, effective Feb. 15.
"Raw material costs have escalated severely over the past two years and are projected to rise further in the months ahead," said Scott Kendrick, sales manager. "Our business cannot afford to continue to absorb these increases at current filament prices."
Polyester is widely used in the production of upholstered furniture for fabric covers, padding and cushioning.
