The company, a subsidiary of China-based Markor International, is headed by Jeff Young, chairman and CEO, who has formed an executive team that includes Howard Pan, formerly vice president of operations for A.R.T. Furniture, who is president of Schnadig.
Longtime Schnadig CEO Don Belgrad will remain actively involved with the company as chairman emeritus.
Bryan Milleson, former chief financial officer at Furniture Brands International's Drexel Heritage and Henredon divisions, has been named vice president of operations. Richard Tung is director of finance.
Jeff Katz continues as vice president of domestic sales, while Kristine Capra, who has extensive design and merchandising experience with Ferguson Copeland and Century Furniture, is director of upholstery merchandising.
Triche Leander, who has held senior IT positions with Drexel Heritage, Henredon and Lexington, is Schnadig's director of IT and planning.
The team has taken residence at the new headquarters at 4200 Tudor Lane. The company has closed its Chicago office and consolidated all of its U.S. administrative functions and services in High Point.
The company will warehouse products for the eastern region in High Point and will serve the western states from Riverside, Calif. The new facility here includes 110,000 square feet of warehouse space adjacent to the 18,000-square-foot office.
"Don and I feel extremely privilege to lead what I consider to be the best furniture management team in the industry," said Young. "These individuals have distinguished themselves with an impressive number of consecutive years of documented operational experience in our industry. Largely due to their collective experience, we are already months ahead of our strategic and operational initiatives."
Schnadig's showroom on the fifth floor of the International Home Furnishings Center's Commerce wing has been redesigned for the display of the company's new product direction. The new display includes three new collections and the Neutrals Select Program, which the company believes to be the first custom upholstery program from China offering retailers custom fabric choices.
"I can't believe the speed and the quality of progress that has been made to fulfill the vision I shared with Richard Feng, chairman of Markor Group, and Jeff Young prior to Markor's purchase of Schnadig Corp.," Belgrad said. "Retailers throughout the U.S. will be able to take advantage of the creativity, unique values and services never before available. Jeff Young's new management team has displayed the imagination, flexibility and industry required to make those changes which are necessary to successfully compete in a global industry."
