Spring Air Partners-N.A.
NEW YORK — Bedding producer Spring Air Partners-North America, Spring Air's largest licensee, has removed Daniel Sullivanand Victor de Jong from its board of directors.
The company, operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, said the move was taken pursuant to written consent of the majority of its stockholders.
Spring Air Partners also said Les Ayershas joined the board. Ayers was appointed president and CEO of the company last September, when Sullivan resigned from those posts.
Spring Air Partners has six facilities in North America. It sells the full Spring Air line to national retail chains, sleep shops and furniture stores, and owns exclusive distribution rights to the premium Chattam and Wells brand of mattresses.
Young Furniture Associates
COMMERCE, Calif. — The Young Furniture Associates, a chapter of the Assn. of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers, has installed its 2004 governing board.
Jacqueline Baptie, Alan Morgan Furniture, is president; Juan Morales, Contract Resources, is vice president; Antonio Guevara, Good Companies, is secretary; Al Gonzales, Hanes Inds., is treasurer; Gene Valcke, Hanes Inds., is immediate past president.
Others elected to serve on the board are Peter Bohenek, Rhythm Net Design Group; Kent Donnelly, GM Packaging; Gabrielle Gallardo, Elite Leather; Cyrus Nia, Lectra; Eric Riley, Freeman Decorating Co.; and Gary Vega, Kemp Hardware & Supply Co. The AWFS board liaison to YFA is Jon Sanches of Hanes Industries.
Valcke was presented with The Richard M. Sax Award, given annually to the person in the industry who best exemplifies the qualities of leadership and industry service.

Dimplex North America
CAMBRIDGE, Ontario — Decorative fireplace producer Dimplex North America has named two furniture industry veterans to lead its sales and marketing efforts in the United States.
Bill Caples has been named Western regional sales manager. He has spent the past 30 years in the furniture industry, most recently as regional manager for the Pacific Rim International Division of La-Z-Boy. He will be based in Seattle
Bill Howard has been named Eastern regional sales manager. He previously was co-director of national sales at case goods manufacturer Keller Furniture. He is based in the Louisville, Ky., area.
Both report to Rusty Calloway, director of North American business development for Dimplex.
