WithIt event to discuss 'tools for change'

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 7, 2004

Women in the Home Industries Today, or WithIt, will offer "Tools for Navigating Our Changing Industry" at its spring educational conference, May 12-13 at AmericasMart in Atlanta.

"As individuals and as an industry, we need to develop additional skills and gain fresh perspectives in order to survive and thrive in today's fast-paced, high-pressure, uncertain environment," said conference organizer Mary Leigh Wallace of Trone Public Relations.

Speaker Bryan Dodge will deliver a keynote presentation at the May event, "Nothing Changes Until You Change, or How to Build a Better You." He will offer an array of tips on meeting and exceeding expectations.

Conference attendees can attend four of eight educational sessions on these topics: repositioning in the face of globalization, technology tools for competitive advantage, the lowdown on career paths, personal branding and professional etiquette, financials for the non-financial executive, home furnishings trends, psychology of the home, and staying on track — how to avoid professional derailment.

The registration fee is $50 for WithIt members, $25 for students and $250 for non-members. Members in the High Point area are invited to join a chartered bus trip to the conference in Atlanta.

For more information or to register, see the WithIt Web site at www.withit.org or contact Sara Lyke, executive director, at (336) 880-2188 or by e-mail at direc-tor@withit.org.
