MONROE, Mich. — Dyan Van Fossen has been named vice president of research and product development for La-Z-Boy's residential division.
In her newly created position, she will oversee the company's product development staff in Dayton, Tenn., and will be responsible for the mechanical engineering, test lab and research staffs at La-Z-Boy's headquarters in Monroe.
Van Fossen has 19 years experience in product research, design and development, most recently as the director of Creative Office for office furniture producer Herman Miller, where she won several awards for product development and design.
At La-Z-Boy, she reports to David Layman, senior vice president of operations. "Dyan brings valuable experience in product research, design and development that will continue to drive this company to stand above the rest," Layman said.
"This is an exciting time for me to join La-Z-Boy with the company's increasing focus on creating a wide variety of styles," Van Fossen said. "I'm happy to be a part of a company with such a great reputation for producing high-quality and comfortable furniture."
