Mehalko leaves Towne Square
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 7, 2004
HILLSBORO, Texas — Tom Mehalko, vice president and general manager of glider rocker producer Towne Square, has left the company after a management reorganization by parent Dutailier.
His post will not be filled. Other Towne Square managers report to managers at Dutailier, also a glider rocker specialist.
Dominique Godbout, Dutailier's vice president of marketing and sales, said the changes should strengthen both lines, and he stressed that Towne Square would maintain its separate identity.
Dutailier is best known for its metal glider rockers — many of which are sold to juvenile furniture and baby stores — while Towne Square is best known for wood gliders.
Mehalko had been with Towne Square since 2001. He previously was president of The Chair Co., and advertising director of Furniture/Today in the early 1990s.
