GLEN RAVEN, N.C. — The latest designs from the Richard Frinier Collection for Sunbrella were featured at the Glen Raven showroom during this month's Showtime.
The Coastal, Mediterranean and Exotic collections, which illustrate the increasing sophistication of performance fabrics, had a soft launch at Century during the October market.
"We are moving into a new era in residential interior fabric," Frinier said. "Our partnership with Sunbrella means that consumers can have it all — durability, ease of cleaning and colorfastness, along with exciting colors, patterns and textures."
The Coastal collection is anchored by Frinier's Sailcloth, which presents the natural appearance of canvas stylized into solids and classic stripes in a soft, sun-washed palette. A highlight is a waffle weave pattern called Spa Weave.
The Mediterranean collection was inspired by patterns and colors in the architecture and gardens of the Alhambra and Alcazar in Spain. Colors include Oasis, a sophisticated blend of blue-green, sandy beige, palm green and gold; Camel, a blend of gold, sandy beige and sienna; and Medina, a rich colorway including red, blue-green and gold.
The Exotic collection features vintage patterns and the "true colors of Indonesian ikats, batiks and bingatas as they have been passed down through the ages," Frinier said. "These motifs represent peace, harmony, calm and balance."
The collection also includes landscape patterns focusing on leaves and trees in both traditional and unexpected motifs.
