Restonic appoints Toman president

ROSEMONT, Ill. — ROSEMONT, Ill. — Top 10 bedding producer Restonic has named industry veteran Kevin Toman president and CEO.
He replaces Ed Scott, whose last official day at Restonic is March 31.
Toman's bedding experience includes positions with bedding majors Simmons, Sealy and Serta. He spent the past few years working in education, as an instructor and a marketing consultant.
"I really missed the fast-paced marketing nature of the industry, as well as the intimate customer relationships," Toman said. "Restonic has so many opportunities to grow, and I look forward to leading that effort."
Toman currently lives in Boston with his wife, Mary, and will be relocating to Chicago.
His bedding experience includes 14 years at Sealy, where he was vice president of sales, and nine years at Serta.
Toman was selected by an executive search committee at Restonic headed by John Quinn, an Indiana licensee.
"We sought out Kevin based on his strong sales and marketing background, his desire to think out of the box and his ability to persuade his staff to do the same," Quinn said. "Very few leaders have the dynamic and successful background that Kevin has, and we believe he will take Restonic to the next level."
Scott, who resigned in January, will assist Toman in a consulting capacity. A 26-year veteran of the bedding industry, Scott joined Restonic in August 1995. He said he wanted to take some time off to consider his next career move.
