Brown Jordan International

POMPANO BEACH , Fla.Ron Ball has been promoted to the newly created position of vice president of specialty sales at Brown Jordan International. He reports to Bill Echols, president of BJI's retail market division.

Ball previously was the casual and outdoor furniture maker's sales representative in Texas for the Brown Jordan, Winston, Vineyard, Molla and Tradewinds brands, and recently had been appointed to regional sales manager. In his new post, Ball will be responsible for managing and growing sales in the specialty retail channel.

"We are thrilled to have Ron join our corporate management team here at BJI," said Echols. "With the addition of our new brands and the popularity of the Elegant Outdoors concept, it was vital to find the right person to manage our growth in this area. He is an enormous asset to our company and has always been a leader among our sales represntative."

GE Commercial Finance

NORWALK , Conn.James Hogan has been promoted to national origination leader, retail finance, at GE Commercial Finance Corporate Lending.

He is senior vice president of the business unit, and joined GE in 1997 from ING Capital.

Sunset Trading

LONDONDERRY, N.H.Allison Eremita has been named director of merchandising at bedroom and dinette importer Sunset Trading.

She reports to Harry Leighton, vice president of merchandising.

Eremita's responsibilities will include product design and development, merchandising and market display.

She is a member of a furniture retailing family, and worked for manufacturer Riverside Furniture for nine years. Most recently, Eremita was an independent furniture and showroom designer.

DIRECTORS

Select Comfort

MINNEAPOLIS — Airbed manufacturer and retailer Select Comfort has appointed Brenda Lauderback to its board of directors.

She will serve as a member of the corporate governance and nominating committee of the board.

Lauderback is a member of the boards of directors of Irwin Financial, Big Lots, Louisiana-Pacific and Wolverine World Wide.

She was group president of wholesale and retail for Nine West Group, and held a number of management posts at Target Corp., among them vice president/general merchandise manager.

Lauderback has received numerous honors, including an Alumni Achievement Award from Robert Morris University; the Career Women of Achievement Award from the YMCA of Cincinnati; the Femmy Award from the Under Fashions Club; and the Bragg Award for Outstanding Achievement from the Black Retail Action Group.
