CHIASSO, Switzerland — CHIASSO, Switzerland — Buyers at the 2004 Scoperta fabric show and its companion Comocreainterni design show here in May will be able to select a pattern and see it printed on fabric almost at once, thanks to digital printing machines that will be at the shows.
Bill Davis, managing director or Trade Link, which organizes the shows, said that technology like digital printing on textiles has made substantial progress in the past year. He called it a key competitive advantage for manufacturers because it reduces lead time for design development and speeds up the supply chain.
Manufacturers must find their competitive advantages, said Davis.
"We can help them in providing a creative platform to show their capabilities. A substantial area of the exhibition is set aside to display trends, colors and innovations," he said.
The shows will run May 4-7. About 120 companies from 18 countries will show fabrics and designs for upholstery, as well emerging technologies. More information is available on the Web site at www.scopertaexpo.com.
