ASFD dinner to hear design patent lawyer

HIGH POINT — HIGH POINT — A specialist on design patents will speak at the American Society of Furniture Designers dinner on Friday evening, April 23, during the market here.
The dinner, set for 6 p.m. at the Colonial Country Club in Thomasville, N.C., is open to all marketgoers.
The featured speaker will be Paul A. Keller, an attorney in the field of U.S. and international design patents and intellectual protection. He is a partner in the Troy, Mich., law firm of Harness, Dickey & Pierce, is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and also holds an engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati.
He has been practicing patent law for more than 24 years.
He will speak on the current state of design patent law and its implications for the furniture industry, including its role in imports. A question and answer session will follow his presentation.
