PeopLoungers will add space to Miss. plant

NETTLETON, Miss. — PeopLoungers is set to add some 250,000 square feet of warehouse space to its plant here, a move that will free additional production space for the motion and stationary upholstery producer.
Jerry Marlin, executive vice president, said construction will begin as soon as an access road is completed.
The state has approved a $650,000 grant to build the road, which will link the new warehouse with Mississippi Highway 6.
The road won't be finished until late summer or early fall, so the company probably won't break ground until spring 2005.
The new warehouse will allow the company to convert some existing warehouse space to manufacturing, Marlin said.
The Nettleton plant, which makes motion upholstery, is operating at full capacity, while the company's stationary upholstery plant in nearby Mantachie is close to capacity, he said.
Additional warehouse space also is needed for a new line of imported bedroom and dining room furniture PeopLoungers is unveiling at the April High Point market.
