FurnitureFan boosts NFM's online catalog

Omaha, Neb — Omaha, Neb. — Top 100 store Nebraska Furniture Mart is using FurnitureFan.com to drive its online furniture catalog, used by consumers to shop its furniture offerings but not purchase on the Web.
The database-driven catalog is updated by NFM's furniture resources through FurnitureFan's interface and with FurnitureFan's coordination. The database gives NFM the mechanism to expand and illustrate its online presentation.
The integration of FurnitureFan's service with NFM's Web site "appears almost totally seamless," said Jeffrey Douglas, the retailer's Internet marketing manager. "This will significantly benefit Nebraska Furniture Mart and its customers by allowing them to see more of what we have to offer online."
He said NFM's online furniture offerings have increased 10-fold as a result of the new FurnitureFan service. NFM sells only in its two brick-and-mortar locations — huge stores in Omaha and Kansas City, Kan., the latter opened in August 2003.
NFM displays "thousands of products" in 10 furniture categories, said Sev Ritchie, president of FurnitureFan. Because NFM has such a large number of suppliers, the retailer is an ideal candidate for an online catalog, he said.
