Despite uncertain times and spotty performance month to month, furniture looks to be on the mend at retail. And while some may decry the predominance of safe styles this spring, the strategy might make good sense for an industry approaching consumers who increasingly seek comfort, not confrontation, when setting the tone for their home environments.
