Shaw and Mohawk preview rug intros

ATLANTA — Before this year's Atlanta International Rug Market opened, Shaw Living and Mohawk Home had a handle on how retailers would respond to new rug products.
In December, Shaw parent Shaw Inds. began an ambitious 34-city road show campaign.
"We saw some 7,000 retailers at the shows...and the reaction was outstanding for all Shaw products, including the Shaw Living division," said Jeff Meadows, vice president of Shaw Living.
In December, Mohawk Floorscapes dealers saw a sneak preview of the new Mohawk Select line from Mohawk Home, the company's rug and textiles division. The flooring retailers saw new Mohawk Select rugs, geared to specialty floor and furniture stores.
"Because of the exceptional success of the new Mohawk Select label at the recent Floorscapes show in Florida, we decided not to wait six months to expand the Select line but to present new constructions, new price points and expanded styles in Atlanta," said Rocky Casteel, vice president and general manager of rugs and textiles for Mohawk Home.
