Alan Friedman, designer
SEATTLE — Designer Alan Friedman, president of Alan Friedman Associates and president of the American Society of Furniture Designers, has died from cancer.
He lived here and is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lori, two daughters and a granddaughter.
Jim DiPersia succeeds him as president of ASFD.
Roger Schneeman, designer
INDIANAPOLIS — Lloyd Roger Schneeman, a longtime furniture designer and educator, has died. He was 70.
He worked for 34 years as a furniture design manager for RCA-GE-Thomson Consumer Electronics, where he designed television furniture consoles, home entertainment and home theater cabinetry, and consumer electronics. After his retirement, he was a consultant, a freelance furniture designer and visiting assistant professor of design at Purdue University.
Schneeman was a member of the Industrial Designers Society of America and a member and former president of the American Society of Furniture Designers.
Survivors include his wife, mother, three children and three brothers.
Memorials may be made to the All Souls Unitarian Church Capital Campaign, Indianapolis, the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, or a favorite charity.
