Unifi shows what it can do with yarn color
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 4, 2004
HIGH POINT — Yarn source Unifi is showcasing its expanded ability to mix and match colors during Showtime here this week.
"We can dye almost any type of yarn in existence, but many of our customers are unaware of the options available," said Ron Mangrum, business unit director of dyed and airjet-textured products.
Among the yarns highlighted in Unifi's booth in space 1-504 at Suites at Market Square are:
-
Package-dyed spun yarns — rayon, polyester, cotton, polyester and cotton blends, acrylic and Ingeo products.
-
Specialty performance dyed yarns — A.M.Y., MicroVista, Myriad, Novva, Reflexx, Repreve, Sorbtek, Satura and Sultra.
-
Filament yarns — textured polyester, solution-dyed polyester, air-textured products, Repreve, textured nylon, novelty yarns, antimony-free polyester and chenille.
"Working with such a large combination of products and colors requires us to be more efficient, benefiting our customer," Mangrum said. "Our predictive color-matching process, which eliminates two to three weeks from the color approval process, does just that."
Unifi specializes in producing and processing textured yarns, primarily multi-filament polyester and nylon yarns.
