Monroe, Mich. — La-Z-Boy has named Dave Sowinski senior vice president of operations for the Case Goods Group and promoted Nancy Davis to vice president of case goods financial operations and Julie Sullivan to vice president of finance and controller for the American Drew and Lea Inds. case goods business units.
Sowinski's and Davis' positions are new.
Case Goods Group President Steve Kincaid said the three appointments strengthen La-Z-Boy's ability to capitalize on the combined strengths of its case goods businesses and maximize the group's operating effectiveness.
Sowinski, who reports to Kincaid, spent the past year as director of planning for La-Z-Boy. In his new role, he will assist each case goods company with its operations, as well as oversee various case goods group activities, including La-Z-Boy's global sourcing organization.
"Dave Sowinski's knowledge of the individual case goods businesses, along with his familiarity with the La-Z-Boy organization, will make him a key player in this effort," Kincaid said. "I am confident Dave's experience, knowledge and business savvy, along with his strong analytical and planning abilities, will make him extremely effective in this important role."
Davis, who now reports to Sowinski, had been controller for American Drew, and also worked on special sourcing projects.
Previously, Sullivan was controller for Lea Inds. She reports to Jack Richardson, president of the Case Goods Group's American Drew and Lea divisions.
"Nancy Davis will ... assume responsibility for group accounting functions, business analytics and metrics, special projects and (other) group initiatives," Kincaid said. "Julie Sullivan's expanded role will include responsibility for the financial management of both American Drew and Lea Inds., including our Morristown, Tenn., and North Wilkesboro, N.C., facilities."
