HomElegance adds Dallas-area warehouse
Thomas Russell -- Furniture Today, December 14, 2003
Dallas — To boost its presence in and around Texas, case goods and upholstery importer HomElegance opened a new warehouse Dec. 1 in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
The 150,000-square-foot building will serve Arkansas, northern Louisiana, Oklahoma and parts of Texas. Previously, the company served those areas from its Houston warehouse.
HomElegance serves about 200 storefronts in that area and eventually hopes to reach 500, said Director of Sales and Marketing Joe Elmore.
The warehouse will expedite next-day shipments, expected to reach the retailer in a week or less.
The company also offers a container-direct program, a mixed-container program from factories in Asia, and truckload shipments from the port of entry warehouse in Hayward, Calif.
Similar to the Houston warehouse, the cube-style Dallas building has 18-foot ceilings and is fully racked. It also has an 8,000-square-foot showroom.
Owned by Frank Chen, the building is HomElegance's 13th warehouse, including a 250,000-square-foot facility in Dong Guan, China, which opened in the summer of 2002.
