High Point — The International Home Furnishings Market Authority has received a $50,000 marketing grant from a North Carolina fund established with money from the state's settlement with the tobacco industry.
Market Authority President Judy Mendenhall said the grant will be administered by the High Point Economic Development Commission, which in turn will funnel the money to the Market Authority. She said the money will be used to implement a marketing plan the group hopes to unveil early next year.
The Market Authority's board of directors is scheduled to meet this week to award a contract to a marketing firm that will oversee the project.
