R. Haverty Sr. leaves board after 56 years

Atlanta — Rawson Haverty Sr., 83, has stepped down from Havertys' board of directors, which he has served since 1947.
The board also named two new directors, Al Trujillo and Ben Haverty. Rawson Haverty Sr. becomes chairman emeritus.
Trujillo is president and chief executive officer of global information management company Recall Corp. He also has worked for waste treatment companies Brambles Atlantic Waste Disposal and American NuKem, and started his career as a program engineer on a rocket development project for Lockheed Missiles and Space Co.
Ben Haverty has been with Havertys 26 years and has been regional manager of its Georgia operations since 1996. His previous posts include vice president of marketing programs, assistant vice president of merchandising, Western regional manager and general manager of Havertys' Winston-Salem, N.C., operations.
He also is a director of an Atlanta-based community economic development group.
The 112-store Havertys also promoted 20-year-plus veteran Steven Burdette to senior vice president, operations. He has been vice president, operations, since last year and previously was vice president and assistant vice president of merchandising.
Separately, the board declared a quarterly dividend of 6.25 cents per share on its common stock, up half a penny, or 8.7%, and 5.75 cents, up 9.5%, on its Class A common stock.
The dividends are payable Nov. 26 to shareholders of record Nov. 12.
