Watertown, Wis. — Employees of The Custom Shoppe, a maker of custom-built oak, maple and cherry case goods, raised more than $16,111 during the 2003 American Cancer Society Relay for Life. This was the fifth year the company participated in the anti-cancer walk.
"After our factory burned down, friends gave up help and encouragement to survive and rebuild," said Frank Krejci, president and owner of The Custom Shoppe. "I am extremely proud of how our 150 employees care about their work and care about giving back to the community."
In the four years The Custom Shoppe has been in Watertown, Krejci said it has been the leading corporate fundraiser for the local Relay for Life.
"We have now surpassed the $50,000 milestone in the fight against cancer," he said.
