Flegel's Home Furnishings
Menlo Park, Calif. — Interior designer Zara Stender has joined retailer Flegel's Home Furnishings here.
She is president of the Interior Design Society's Northern California Chapter. The winner of three Bay Area awards and the author of two books on design and color, Stender is on the advisory board of the Sacramento Valley Technical High School's interior design program and is an independent member of the California Legislative Coalition for Interior Design.
Stender previously practiced independently as well as with Ethan Allen in San Mateo, Calif.

Restonic
Rosemont, Ill. — Bedding producer Restonic has named Brenda Lowe a sales representative for its plant in Toledo, Iowa.
She previously held a sales post at retailer McGregor's Furniture in Marshalltown, Iowa, and also worked in radio sales. Lowe will be covering Iowa.
King Koil Mid-Atlantic
Norfolk, Va. —Ken Alward has joined bedding maker King Koil Mid-Atlantic here as sales manager.
He was with retailer Havertys, where he spent 14 years in sales, sales managing and general management.
In his post with the King Koil licensee, Alward reports to John Clark, vice prsident of sales.
"Ken brings a wealth of retail expertise and management skills," said Clark.
The plant serves New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and metro Philadelphia.
