New Aspen goods help City of Hope

Phoenix — Full-line resource Aspenhome is donating a portion of the proceeds from two new collections to the City of Hope.
The collections, Destination and Origin, will be launched at the High Point Market under the theme, "Imagine the Possibilities when We All Join Together to Find the Cure."
Destination is a 100-piece, 20th-century French-Deco inspired collection that includes bedroom, dining room, occasional, home office, home entertainment and upholstery. The wood pieces are made with rosewood and cherry veneers.
Origin is a 50-piece, mid-20th century-inspired collection of bedroom, dining room, occasional, home office and home entertainment and sectional sofas. Wood pieces are made with bamboo veneers in a cocoa bean finish and feature hardware in an aged bronze finish.
Aspenhome will receive the Sprit of Life Award during the annual City of Hope dinner, to be held Sunday, April 26, at the Sheraton Hotel in Greensboro. The award is presented to companies or individuals who have made notable contributions to the community and the industry.
The proceeds from the two collections will help the Duarte, Calif.-based City of Hope in its ongoing efforts to fight life-threatening diseases such as cancer, diabetes and HIV/AIDS.
"When Aspenhome was asked to be the 2009 Spirit of Life honoree by City of Hope we were honored, but at the same time wanted to raise the bar for fundraising in the furniture industry," said Bill Colegrove, general manager and CEO of Aspenhome, in a statement. "Consistent with our philosophy of leading by example, we set out to create a campaign that both celebrated furniture and helped people."
