Consumers Digest ranks home office furniture lines

High Point — Small office/home office furniture is enjoying a promotional plug from Consumers Digest magazine.
In the publication's May/June issue, a five-page article describes some of the options people have for furnishing their home offices.
Talking about the ongoing blend of style and function offered by manufacturers, the magazine provides a buying guide with a narrow assortment of recommendations. Titled "Top-Drawer Home-Office Furniture," the articles talk about design and functional features that consumers may find useful or appealing.
Consumers Digest, not to be confused with non-profit Consumer Reports, makes recommendations and then offers to license its Best Buy trademark to the companies whose products have been endorsed so that they can use it in their marketing materials.
The recommendations in this section are divided into economy, midrange and premium selections for desks, computer workstations, armoires and chairs.
For desks, the executive desk from Hooker's Seven Seas collection is the premium choice; Ethan Allen's drop-leaf desk is the mid-range pick; and Studio RTA's Office Tech is the economy selection.
From premium to economy, the workstation selections are: Creative Ideas' Advanced Computer Wedge with hutch; Computer Furniture Direct's Hyland desk and hutch; and Bush's Jagger Comfort Zone computer cart.
