IFDA sets 10th annual benefit sale

High Point — The 10th annual home furnishings benefit sale June 17–19 at the Radisson Hotel here will featurea bargains on furniture and accessories, with proceeds going to charity.
Sponsored by the Carolinas Chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Assn., the sale will run Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A by-invitation preview party and silent auction will be held Thursday, June 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Donations for the sale include market showroom samples and factory closeouts. Over the years, the auction has raised over $150,000 for educational efforts related to the home furnishings industry.
Proceeds from this year's sale will support the home furnishings program at High Point University, the Ruth Clark Scholarship for furniture design students, and other scholarship and educational projects.
"The sale gives consumers an opportunity to purchase home furnishings at bargain prices and it provides needed support for a variety of educational programs," said Joanne Hoover, chairman of the sale. "Our chapter is grateful for the continuing contributions of companies in the home furnishings industry that generously support this event each year."
