How the lists were compiled

Furniture/Today's exclusive survey of Canada's top bedding manufacturers and retailers focuses on the production and sale of mattresses and box springs of all construction types. Where possible, estimates exclude sales of ancillary sleep products such as futons, metal beds, foot and headboards, pillows, linens, mattress pads and other accessories.
Revenue estimates are for the 12 months ending Dec. 31, 2002 and 2001, all in current Canadian dollars.
The rankings are based on information obtained from public company filings, company statements, and discussions with industry leaders and analysts.
All sales and revenue figures are Furniture/Today market research estimates.
The lists were compiled by Canadian Correspondent Michael J. Knell, who also wrote the stories.
