H.P. market services firm adds Web site

High Point — High Point Furniture Market Services has launched a Web site intended to gain the business more exposure.
The site, www.hpfms.com, describes the company's services, which range from facility location and showroom staffing, to showroom construction and remodeling, to market accommodations.
Also on the site are links to Brown Investment Properties, a Greensboro-based property management company and commercial real estate broker, and to the International Home Furnishings Market Authority's site which, under its accommodations and space-for-lease sections, links to HPFMS.
Company founder and principal Ivan Garry joined Brown in 2001 as broker in charge of its High Point office. He handles market services and Elizabeth Sheffield handles accommodations.
Garry launched HPFMS in early 1999. He had been vice president and general manager of the National Furniture Mart building, where he had worked since 1976.
He expects the Web site to help market his services. But, at 65, Garry doesn't want the business to get too big. "I want to do something that I enjoy and that's fun for me," he said.
