Kinney draws on strength of team

Pontotoc, Miss. — With three decades in the industry, Ed Kinney is a senior guru of upholstery merchandising. But he's embarrassed by his nomination for the Furniture/Today Upholstery Merchandising Leadership Award and instead chose to pass the kudos to other, younger people in his parent organization, Klaussner Furniture Inds.
It's all a team effort, he said, with everybody on the team devoted to the common purpose of keeping the ship on a straight line.
Kinney, who joined Klaussner nearly 32 years ago, is the company's senior vice president of merchandising. He currently is involved in product direction for Ellis Home Furnishings, which became part of the KFI operation three years ago.
