Bradington-Young readying new starting grade of leather

Cherryville, N.C. — Upscale leather and motion upholstery maker Bradington-Young will introduce at the October market a new starting grade of leather that will reduce the price of in-line leather chairs by about $100 and sofas by about $200.
The new starting grade, Ashton Court, will offer some 25 to 35 leather choices in premium leathers such as tri-tone, hand-stained and distressed in transitional and traditional styles from Italy, South America and China.
"Some of the economic forces in the leather industry today ... are allowing us to bring unbelievable perceived value to the marketplace," said Curtis Bolick, national sales manager for Bradington-Young. "The types of leathers we're offering in Ashton Court are leathers normally found only in the better grades of most leather manufacturers' lines."
Bradington-Young, which is a division of Hooker, also will introduce nine married cover leather sofa groups at $999 wholesale for the sofa. This will represent the most extensive collection of $999 sofas in the company's 25-year history.
"We really want to stay competitive in price with imports, yet offer the added value of multiple cover choices and fast delivery," Bolick said.
The company's leather line will now feature four grades: Ashton Court at the low end, followed by Bentley Place and King Street and topping out with London Park. Each line represents a $100 stepup in cost.
