Moretti's says move improves business

Carson, Calif. — Moretti's Design Collection, a resource for upholstery, occasional and dining furniture, has grown its business about 15% since moving to a larger, 45,000-square-foot facility here early this year.
"We purchased our new building last year and completed our move-in at the beginning of January," said Mori Afshar, chief executive officer. "We now have over three times the amount of space as before, which enabled us to expand our line of frames, fabrics and finishes."
The company imports components, then assembles, upholsters and finishes the goods here. Moretti's old facility was just a few miles away.
Afshar said the company on pace to hit about $8 million in volume this year. All categories have been doing well, he said, especially sofas. Fifteen workers have been added this year, and the new facility has room to expand as needed.
The company will have a new showroom for the October High Point market, in Plaza Suites space 205. Moretti's Design will introduce five styles of sofas and 10 groups of dining room and living room furniture, targeting medium-high price points.
