Monroe, Mich. — Mike Martinelli has joined La-Z-Boy's Case Goods Group as vice president of sourcing, a new position in the recently reorganized wood division.
He has over 20 years experience as a senior strategic sourcing manager, and comes to La-Z-Boy from the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, where he was senior vice president and chief procurement officer.
He reports to Bill Johnson, named president of operations for the Case Goods Group in June as part of a consolidation of La-Z-Boy's wood companies under a unified management and sourcing structure. The group includes American Drew, American of Martinsville, Hammary, Kincaid/Alexvale, Lea Inds. and Pennsylvania House.
Martinelli will work with Lamont Hope, president of La-Z-Boy Global, the company's sourcing entity. Martinelli will be responsible for the procurement of raw materials, supplies and other components for the wood group, overseeing quality, logistics and delivery.
"Mike Martinelli comes to us with significant leadership skills, and also brings a wealth of experience in negotiating contracts and supply agreements," Johnson said.
