Los Angeles — Upscale contemporary specialist Cantoni has hired Robert Briody as general manager of the store it opened here last October.
Briody, who has nearly 30 years experience in the furniture industry, replaces Michael Lin, who left the company. Lin "moved on to better things and Cantoni wishes him well," the company said.
Before joining Cantoni, Briody spent three years at contemporary Italian wood manufacturer Sheres Studio, where he was vice president of sales and marketing. Before that he held the same title at Galerkin Design and Pacific/Condi.
"His experience in the furniture industry will be a strong asset for our Los Angeles showroom and design studio," said Michael Wilkov, president and chief executive officer of the six-store retailer with more than 100,000 square feet of showroom space in Dallas, Houston, Irvine, Calif., Los Angeles and most recently Atlanta.
Briody said the Los Angeles store already has a strong following, and he plans to "enhance Cantoni's visibility in the market as the leader in contemporary furniture and accessories."
