Wilmington, Del. — DuPont Textiles & Interiors has changed its name to Invista, a move designed to further distance the company from its corporate parent, DuPont.
DuPont continues talks that could lead to the sale of the textiles unit to Koch Inds.
"Invista begins its corporate life as the world's largest integrated fibers and intermediates company with more than $6.3 billion in revenues, 18,000 employees and a presence in 86 countries," said Steve McCracken, Invista president. The new logo has a linking line, "Built on DuPont Innovation," and a tagline, "Step Forward."
Both elements are designed to convey to its customers that "the company will move faster in the future and be more flexible, and a change in corporate behavior regarding the marketplace as well as building on our extensive research as to consumers wants and needs," said Dave Tretrola, vice president, home and industrial textiles.
Invista's brands include Lycra, Teflon, Stainmaster, Antron, and Tactel.
