Monroe, Mich. — Donald W. Mather has been named vice president of manufacturing at La-Z-Boy Residential, replacing Larry A. Woolace, who has retired.
Mather will be responsible for the manufacturing operations and the industrial engineering staff in Monroe, and reports to David A. Layman, senior vice president of operations for La-Z-Boy.
Mather began his career in 1974 at the former La-Z-Boy manufacturing facility in Florence, S.C. Since then, he has held various positions at the company, including general manager of La-Z-Boy Leland, the manufacturing facility for La-Z-Boy Contract Furniture Group and, most recently, general manager of La-Z-Boy Arkansas.
"Don has over 28 years of manufacturing experience with La-Z-Boy and has a thorough understanding of our process," said Layman. "We are confident he has the talent and leadership to drive increased productivity in our manufacturing process."
